My Way by Wes Borland LIMP BIZKIT

Exact My Way verse effect setup

Wes Borland explained in a MusicRadar interview that his My Way sound involved a solid-state Maestro Echoplex, an Ibanez flanger with its unusual “Wack'd” setting, and a 1965 Zodiac Twin 30 amplifier. He also identified the bridge pickup as the guitar position used for the sound.

Here is a practical starting point to recreate that My Way  sound.

Effect 1: Ibanez CF7 Chorus/Flanger

Starting values based on community tone recreations, not verified original studio knob positions.

Flanger

Wack'd

Speed

Fast, unusual modulation

### 10/10

Depth

Intensity of the effect

### 8/10

Delay Time

8/10

Regeneration

Feedback; avoid excessive harshness

These values are approximate starting points. The Wack'd mode creates an unusual ring-modulator-like character; adjust by ear to match the recording.

Effect 2: Delay / Echoplex-style echo

* Delay time: start around 300–400 ms.

* Repeats: 2–3 audible repeats.

* Mix: 15–25%.

* Feedback: low to moderate.

These are suggested starting values, not confirmed original settings. The recording used a Maestro solid-state Echoplex; a modern digital delay can approximate its role.

7\. Amp settings for the clean verse

Start with a clean amp rather than a high-gain distortion channel.

| Control  | Starting point |

| -------- | -------------- |

| Gain     | 2/10           |

| Bass     | 5/10           |

| Mid      | 5/10           |

| Treble   | 5/10           |

| Presence | 4–5/10         |

| Reverb   | 1–2/10         |

Use the bridge pickup initially. Keep the notes clearly articulated, with the unusual modulation effect doing most of the tonal work.

For the heavy sections, switch to your high-gain channel or a suitable distortion sound. Avoid leaving the extreme Wack'd effect on every section if you're trying to reproduce the contrast in the original arrangement.

8\. How to adapt this to your existing pedalboard

If your board does not contain an Ibanez CF7, look for a flanger with an extreme or experimental modulation mode, or a frequency-shifter/ring-modulator effect. A conventional chorus alone will not necessarily reproduce the same sound.

One question so I can give you the actual settings for your equipment: are you using the physical pedals in your photo, or do you want to build the My Way sound in BandLab on your PC?
